Edmentum Educator of the Year!

The Sayre Public School district is proud to announce that 3rd grade teacher, Courtney Lewis, has been named Edmentum’s Teacher of the Year! Edmentum is a leading provider of online learning programs designed to drive student achievement for academic and career success. Founded in innovation, Edmentum is committed to being educators' most trusted partner in creating successful student outcomes everywhere learning occurs. Mrs. Lewis was nominated for this prestigious award by district curriculum coordinator, Andrea Dickson, and the district recently received the news that Mrs. Lewis was selected as this year’s recipient.

Mrs. Lewis was chosen because of her dedication to researching and using innovative products and methods to keep her classroom interesting and her students engaged in learning.  Courtney’s love for her students and her commitment to growing as a professional have allowed her to emerge as a highly effective educator and the kind of teacher that Sayre Schools is proud to call their own.

Courtney received the news on the morning of May 25th, making her last day of school this year a very memorable one.  When asked how she felt about receiving this award, Courtney responded, “I am still in disbelief honestly.  There are so many great teachers not only in this district, but across the nation; I just feel extremely honored.”  In addition to receiving the title of being Edmentum’s Teacher of the Year, she is being awarded with an all-expense paid trip to the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Conference in San Antonio this summer.  Mrs. Lewis will also participate in a presentation located at the Edmentum booth during the conference and will be featured in an article on Edmentum’s blog.
